SAVE ENDANGERED SPECIES BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi “The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated”. Greece hosts a large number of wild animals that are in danger of extinction. This particularly alarming issue was thoroughly discussed in class and our sixth-graders were given the opportunity to do research on the species that are threatened with extinction. More specifically, our students searched for information about some of the endangered animals in Greece, such as the Brown Bear, the Black Vulture, the Red Dear, the Mediterranean Monk Seal (Monahus-Monahus) and the Loggerhead Sea Turtle (Caretta-Caretta). Then, they proceeded to creating a keynote presentation in order to introduce the animals near extinction and mention their role within the ecosystem. The students also referred to the reasons why these animals are in danger of extinction and proposed ways to protect them. The aim of this project was for our students to realise the significance of wildlife conservation.
